AR Rahman bags 7 nominations at GIMA

AR Rahman continues his saga of nominations and awards. The maestro  has won a total of 7 nominations for his mind blowing music in the film Rockstar at the 3rd Global Indian Music Academy(GIMA) awards. Undoubtedly Rockstar had been the best music album of last year and he is expected to win most of the awards.

The  categories in which he is nominated are:

1. Best Music Arranger & Programmer for the song 'Saadda haq'
2. Best Background Score
3. Best Playback Singer Male for the song 'Kun faya kun' along with Mohit Chauhan and Javed Ali
4. Best Playback Singer Male for the song 'Nadaan Parindey' along with Mohit Chauhan
5. Best Music Director
6. Best Film Song for the song 'Nadaan Parinday'
7. Best Film Album

              The other movies which are nominated in the Best Film Album category are Delhi Belly, Ra.One, The Dirty Picture and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Ajay Atul(Agneepath), Ram Sampath(Delhi Belly), Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy(Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara), Vishal-Shekhar(Ra.One) are the other nominees in Best Music Director category.

            Rockstar also won nominations in 4 other categories which include Best music mix Engineers(Hentry Kuruvila, P.A. Deepak, S. Sivakumar, T.R. Krishna Chetan), Best Playback Singer Female (Harshdeep Kaur for Katiya Karun) Best Playback Singer Male (Mohit Chauhan for Sadda Haq) and Best Lyricist (Irshad Kamil for Nadaan Parindey).
